Talk about a neglected blog? This one is definitely it. So, what’s new with you and yours? Anything fun? Interesting? There’s a bit new — and ongoing — here:
I’ve officially stopped selling Stella & Dot jewelry and accessories. Love the brand and their products but my heart wasn’t in it and, frankly, the price point was beyond what many of my friends, family, and acquaintances were willing to shell out. I’m currently on the fence about giving up Scentsy, too. Honestly, I haven’t much use for the MLM direct sales model. No, I don’t think it’s a scam but it definitely requires that whole recruitment aspect which is just not my cup of tea. We just have to see about Scentsy. I do use their products a great deal and, like Perfectly Posh, the required sales volume is pretty low.
Just as I am withdrawing from MLM direct sales, I am considering a wholesale to retail venture with Agnes & Dora, a women’s clothing brand not unlike LuLaRoe but, I think, more fashionable and higher quality. Looking at a possible investment of about 3k for initial inventory and, if I go for it, will utilize a social media sales format such as a Facebook group. I haven’t the home space to maintain racks of clothes nor do I have the time or inclination to work a home-party model. Home parties in New Mexico are always spectacular failures since everyone here is broke. Anyhow, I have to decide if I can and want to make the time commitment for this new venture. On the plus side, there’s no push to recruit reps and build a team, no samples to prepare, no catalogs to push, and the company provides great photos of the garments so I don’t need to set up the equivalent of a home photo studio. On the other, I have to commit to updating and monitoring a Facebook group, emailing invoices, and pulling and mailing orders on a 24 hour turn-around. I also have to make space for the inventory which can, thankfully, be kept packaged. I’ll know more about this after a conference call later this week.
I have an agent. I think I do, anyhow. Signed a contract with MGR Talent and plunked down a $40 technology fee for my mug to be listed on their website (and I do wish they’d upload it already.) I am also taking an acting class which I greatly enjoy; it’s enlightening, to say the least. No idea where any of this is going but I may have some small talent in the acting department. And, then, it may just be an amusing hobby. Who knows?
Still attending classes online for my BSN and am now faced with the daunting task of finding a preceptor. Times like these I wish I were still working in a hospital. As it is now it’s difficult to find a qualified clinical preceptor in my current workplace, especially since I have more clinical experience than most of my current colleagues.
And, I’m tired. Like, all the damn time. Had my first real hot flash the other night at work and it was U-G-L-Y. The changes, they are a comin’ in more ways than one, my friends.
