As Tom Petty famously sings, “The waiting is the hardest part.” And it is hard, especially when you’re expecting your latest Stitch Fix (and have already peeked at what’s being sent) and have signed up for your first $49 Golden Tote. Wasn’t going to sign up for Golden Tote since I actually am trying to save a buck and haven’t a snowball’s chance in Hell of winning the latest Powerball, but since I somehow scored a credit to cover the shipping and handling I figured, eh, might as well see what it’s all about.
The optimal time to get the best selection from Golden Tote is the first of every month when they launch the selections for that month’s tote. If you choose the $49 tote you get to pick one item from a preset selection and they send you that item plus another mystery selection. There were three tops available for me to choose from and I selected the Puella cowl sweater in navy, size medium:
It’s definitely my style, the color is one of my favorites, and it seems versatile enough to keep me toasty now and to transition into spring with ease. The other available selections included a blue and white striped button front top and a Fair Isle-type cocoon sweater. No idea what the additional item to be sent will be but I guess that’s part of the fun, right? Golden Tote also offers a $149 tote with free shipping which allows you to choose two items from a broader selection and you will be sent an additional three or four mystery items. This month’s $149 tote selection included tops, bottoms, dresses, and coats. And, finally, there is the option of a $99 complete surprise tote which will include four items selected for you based off of your style profile. I’ll be sure to review my Golden Tote when it arrives; meanwhile, if you fancy taking the plunge feel free to click on the Golden Tote links in this post or the link over in the sidebar. We’ll both get a $10 credit if you do so.
